Within the Masonic and Military Order of the Red Cross of Constantine, a "Division" is a geographical jurisdiction. Our Division, named "Thames" covers the counties of Oxfordshire, Berkshire, and Buckinghamshire.
The Intendant-General is the head of the Division. He is appointed by our Grand Sovereign (who governs the Order at the national level) and will serve in that office for a number of years. He is empowered to appoint his own Deputy, and a number of officers to assist his work.
The Divisional Executive
The key officers form an Executive to advise and support the Intendant-General. The Executive consists of the Intendant-General, the Deputy Intendant-General, the Divisional Eusebius (who holds the 'number three' position, for a two year term of office), the Divisional Registrar (responsible for strategy and expansion), the Divisional Treasurer (responsible for finance), the Divisional Recorder (responsible for administration), and the Divisional Marshal (responsible for ceremonial).
The Annual Divisional Conclave
Once a year there is a meeting of the Divisional Conclave. This includes not only the Executive, but also a range of other Divisional officers with particular responsibilities. It is also attended by representatives from other Divisions, and by members of the Conclaves that make up the Division. Where necessary, there can be additional meetings of the Divisional Conclave during the year, or of its Standing Committee, which consists of the Divisional Executive plus the Sovereign (head) of each member Conclave.
The units which make up the Division are the Conclaves. Members belong to a local Conclave, and this is where the ordinary business of the Order is carried out on a day to day basis. Conclaves are located across the three counties of our Division.
Divisional Sepulchre Guard
Under the direction of a Captain, the Divisional Sepulchre Guard forms a bodyguard to the Intendant-General, and provides a ceremonial Arch of Steel for grand ceremonials of the Division.
